FUUUUUUUCK.

SO SICK. Ugh. I felt a little ‘off’ yesterday, but this morning it’s like I was beaten with the sick stick. I feel like I’m moving around underwater. My throat hurts. I’ve felt nauseated all day. I just want to go home, curl up in a ball, and maybe die. Why, why won’t they let me go home?

I’ve got a meeting tomorrow night that I can’t miss. I have to concentrate on feeling better before then. That, or perhaps I can give the plague to them and start wiping out the population on a small scale. By the time the government figures out that I’m a biological weapon, it’ll be too late and I’ll be Queen.

…of the Lepers.

    Oh noes!

I have a nose full of vaseline (literal) because I rubbed it clean off with all the blowing (metaphorical).

I think a really hot bath followed by watching ‘Showgirls’ will make me feel better, or as good as is currently possible. There’s nothing like watching Elizabeth Berkeley destroy her career in one scene after another in terms of giving me warmfuzzies.

Close second is Jackass. God, I love watching morons hurt themselves.

      1. leighhyphenanne February 26, 2008 at 9:20 pm

        Likewise.

I loved Jessie on saved by the bell. I swear I quote that show on a day-by-day basis. I felt good last night in the shower, but as soon as I got out of the bathroom, my nose was dripping uncontrollably. It was pretty sick. I might just stuff my nose with tissue or invest in some nose plugs.

My eyes are so swollen that this morning, my boss asked me if I was okay and if I ever wanted to talk about anything… and I was like “oh, i’b fide… your kids got be sick”

other than that – and the crippling ache (and constantly streaming annie soundtrack Willow got for valentine’s day…) I’m okay. 😀

nothing a couple of ghosties can’t fix

        1. admin February 26, 2008 at 9:27 pm

People keep coming into my office and I keep asking them if they WANT to get sick. I figured at the very least, people would be more likely to leave me alone when I’m sniffling and coughing, but nooooooooooo.

          Yay ghosties!

  2. mschilepepper February 26, 2008 at 9:48 pm

Barfing on the floor in the office is guaranteed to drive home the “Hello, I’m SICK!” message to your supervisors. I highly recommend it.

    1. admin February 26, 2008 at 9:53 pm

Yeah, but…it’s MY office and it gets awfully warm in here come summer. 😐

      1. mschilepepper February 26, 2008 at 10:24 pm

So you go out in the hallway or some other common area (preferably where there’s no carpet, you’re not a Philistine!) and suddenly be “overcome by nausea” and Bob’s your uncle, proof for the higher-ups that you truly are sick!

        1. admin February 26, 2008 at 10:26 pm

Only 2 more hours to go…I can wipe my germs on everything, call in tomorrow, and infect everyone from a distance!

  3. cleverusername2 February 26, 2008 at 9:48 pm

Ah ha! Now that I work for the CDC your plot is FOILED!! I’ll have them call in an air strike right away. Sometimes you have to burn the office complex to save it.

    1. admin February 26, 2008 at 9:54 pm

SHIT. I mean, uh, I was planning on…um….giving a fuzzy teddy bear to everyone tomorrow. To spread…love. And caring.

And they’ll call me the Caremaster 3000!

      1. cleverusername2 February 26, 2008 at 10:03 pm

Whatev, Germ Farm. Bombing will commense in five minutes.

…hey, that would make a great band name.

        1. admin February 26, 2008 at 10:05 pm

You know what would make a great band name?

          Counter-CDC Germ Warfare.

My first album will be, ‘It’s ON, bitches!’

You want to go toe-to-toe with the full might of V.P. Cheney’s Federal Gov’ment forces then you just be sure to bring it!

          2. admin February 26, 2008 at 10:24 pm

            You’re getting SERVED.

Since I know to duck when he’s wielding a shotgun, the advantage is clearly mine.

            Re: You’re getting SERVED.

like that’s the only item in our arsenal? We’ve got violence in high-def ultra-realism.

            Re: You’re getting SERVED.

Someone has been listening to Nine Inch Nails. 😀

  4. autonomic_pilot February 26, 2008 at 9:58 pm

    Wasn’t me!

I am still sick though. Commiseration beams coming your way.

    1. admin February 26, 2008 at 10:03 pm

Can I still blame you? 🙂

        1. admin February 26, 2008 at 10:13 pm

Proclamation 23: After the illness takes me, I bequeath my Kingdom of the Dangerously Sick to you. Rule wisely. Rule well.

          1. autonomic_pilot February 26, 2008 at 10:19 pm

Was it the proclamations that were supposed to end with “bitches” or decrees? I’m having trouble keeping it straight though I think it was the decrees.

Once I’ve got that down, I’m set for rule.

          2. admin February 26, 2008 at 10:23 pm

Once you’re lord and master, you can end any sentence you want in ‘bitches’.

(psst: I end decrees in ‘bitches’.)

    AHA!!

So YOU are the carrier monkey!!

    (Like in “outbreak”)

Yeah, I got the same thing. I feel better now, but the last couple of days have been a bitch. I almost went to the hospital yesterday. Fortunately, I got over it. You will too. That bath thing sounds pretty good right about now…think I’ll do that and watch some MST3K

    1. admin February 26, 2008 at 9:25 pm

I figured it was my coworker’s germ-riddled children that are constantly in the office who gave it to me.

      I don’t want to be a disease vector. 🙁
