PROJECT: Flood the Office…P.S. Holy fucking shit!

For a while, daemonwolf has been posting intriguing little clues in the comments as to what she’s been fixing to send me in order to further grind on my apartment manager, clues which have indeed captivated my imagination:

“It’s not really that horrible, just… odd. I’m still sad I didn’t get the matching one, but goddamn shipping would have been ridiculous.”

“I went with the theme of BIG and KITSCHY.”

“He is on the way. I call him…. MexiClause. Or perhaps LatinoClause. I’m still sad I didn’t get the matching set. His woman, she was browtastic.”

Even though she told me it was big, GODDAMN I did NOT expect to see a package of such immense proportions waiting for me. All the while, as I was peeling off tape, my mind was still imagining what on earth ‘MexiClause’ could be–and even in my wildest imagination, I came nowhere close.

Just look at this:

I’m jealous of his luxurious beard, that’s so thick and masterful, it must be parted. If only I could grow a beard so spectacular–I’d go for a side-sweep part myself. Sort of a beard combover.

I’m reminded of the painting of Baba Rama Nana in Private Resort, but as I stare into his eyes, I’m not convinced that I should wear robes and worship him…yet.

Best. Painting. Ever.

Thank you, Tara!

    Completely random

This is completely random and unrelated, but would you ever want to hang out sometime? Or maybe go to the Emerald City Comic Con with some random LJ person (me)? You are awesome and I think we’d have fun.

hehe. Boy are YOU barkin up the wrong tree. Maybe you SHOULD take me with you. That way he’s guaranteed to come home with one of us. 😉

    Hehehe.

I literally drove around with that in the back of my car for the past two months. Every time I opened the hatch on my hatchback, MexiClause!

The frame really brings it all together. Anything other than gold would have looked just plain ridiculous. Ridiculous I say!

I must say, part of me is considering putting it in an even MORE ridiculous thick gold frame–perhaps one with marching elephants and dancing krishnas around the edges, at least 5″ thick. Where could I possibly find something THAT tacky? I’m thinking Ross is my best bet.

  3. kindofstrange March 19, 2008 at 6:13 pm

    I approve!

Yeah, probably Ross. I’ll keep an eye on the Value Village nearby as well, as they have some pretty ridiculous frames come through (where I found MexiClause actually).

He is actually very much from Latin America, which you could tell when he was paired with his female counterpart, but I’ve gotta admit, he makes a great swami.

      Mexcellent!

I must admit I was confused by the ‘mexi’ bit as the title on the back is ‘maharajah’.

My favorite part is the suggestion of a halo around his head.

I’m also going to keep an eye on cost plus–they had some REALLY tacky frames come through when I worked there, plus they’re so, like, omgethnic. By which I mean, they sell shit to middle class people who like to pretend to be cultured.

        Re: Mexcellent!

Haha, awesome. It’s very possible he was intended to be a swami then, but damned did the painting of his woman suggest otherwise. Very Frida-ish in style and execution. I totally didn’t even see the title.

        The halo, she is rad.

          Re: Mexcellent!

When people ask about him, I’m going to tell them that he’s my grandpa, who went on an expedition to India and was so beloved by the locals, they couldn’t help but paint his portrait.

Yay! I am hoping to get him to pose with Obi.

    1. admin March 19, 2008 at 6:21 pm

YAY! I was hoping it would, but you never can tell with USPS.

  6. ilcylic March 20, 2008 at 5:37 pm

I just tried. Maybe if I used some sort of hair product, or got it wet and used the blow drier, but my beard, it would not stay parted.

    1. admin March 21, 2008 at 9:28 pm

      That’s a disappointment. 🙁

      1. ilcylic March 21, 2008 at 9:33 pm

I tried again with a shower and the blow drier, results were much better. I will have photographic evidence, uh, as soon as I get around to moving the pictures off my wife’s Mac.

        1. admin March 21, 2008 at 11:09 pm

Excellent, I can’t wait to see them!

That is at least sixteen different kinds of awesome, right there. 😀
