Technically, to be ‘Philly-style’, shouldn’t this be made with cheez whiz?

View Answers …Technically 12 (27.9%)

Oh god, I didn’t think cheez whiz could get worse until you raised the idea of FROZEN cheez whiz. 13 (30.2%)

This isn’t about the cheez at all, you wench! This is about your Philly-hate. How can you hate the city of brotherly love? 2 (4.7%)

Shut up and get me a fork, I’m taking this beast down. 8 (18.6%)

I would definitely try it – so I voted NOM. But the chance of me not liking it would be pretty high; microwave mac & cheese never seems to turn out well.

Amy’s brand organic microwave mac & cheese is decent. Not GREAT, but decent.

Take out the peppers and it would be an easy nom.

I have to say this is the first NOM or VOM entry where I actually voted “NOM”. I love cheese, I love macaroni and cheese, I love bits of steak and onion….what’s not to like? Hm. Microwaveable, eh? Maybe I spoke too soon.

Still, it looks tasty enough to me. The “NOM” vote stays. 🙂

    cheers,
    Phil

So far in the history of NOM or VOM posts, there has not been a single entry that didn’t appeal to at least one person’s tastes. 🙂

Seconded. I’d throw stuff like bits of meat, onions and peppers, into any other cheese-based pasta dish; might as well try it with macaroni.

Not big on microwavable though. =/

It might just be the lighting, but the steak bits make it look even less appetizing. D:

    1. admin October 12, 2010 at 9:00 pm

They almost look too rectangular to be ‘bits’. Unless they mean ‘bits of mechanically stamped steak’ in which cakes that’s probably accurate.

      1. pretzelcoatl October 12, 2010 at 9:07 pm

        in which cakes

This typo made me smile. I’m not sure what it is. 🙂

And I’m generally not a fan of beef mixed in with my frozen foods, for some reason. Chicken and pork? Fine. Beef? Nooooooo.

        1. admin October 12, 2010 at 9:15 pm

I like that it reminds me of cake.

Out of a box? VOM, but I’ve scratch-made pasta like that before, usually mixing in hotlinks, etc.

It looks NOM worthy to me though I could do without the mystery meat.

VOM, mainly because it comes out of a box. Were I making it at home though it’d be a total NOM.

thanks for making me laugh! lol! exgusting as my 4 year old would say! when I think of Philly– I first think of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air/Wil Smith. when I think of Philly with reference to food, I think of a stead and cheese sammich– on a big roll, onion, steak, cheese— but WHITE cheese not Cheez Whiz!

I would put this in my mouth on purpose. I imagine I’d feel shame and regret after doing so. But I need to find out what’s going on in that box. I would not eat it on the regular, though, as I am migrating from the frozen/boxed food lifestyle.

Still, I’d do it. Once, at least.

Without the bell peppers I’d give it a shot. However, as it comes I vote VOM.

So many bell pepper haters here! I actually looooooooove green peppers. Particularly on pizza!

I just showed this picture to my Philly-native girlfriend.

“WTF makes it ‘Philly-style’? The fact that it has fake meat, fake cheese and looks like vomit?”

    SECONDED.

    1. admin October 13, 2010 at 10:11 pm

Technically, to fit in with MY Philly experience, a homeless man would have to pop out of the box, chase me down the street berating me for not giving him money, and then smear poop somewhere.
