A moment in the life of Mellzah

Mad Science Birthdays: “MAD SCIENCE!” Mellzah: “Yes, hello, I was looking at your mad science birthday parties and I was wondering…do you ever do parties for adults? Mad Science Birthdays: “No. Absolutely not.”

Goddamnit, am I expected to do all of this mad science by myself?

methinks they were pulling your leg. At least I hope

    1. admin January 14, 2010 at 12:51 am

They weren’t. 🙁 It’s ok, I can get people tanked with science on my own, I don’t need to hire a party company to do it for me.

Holy shit, your birthday is a week after mine! Kickass!!!

Anyway, a science themed birthday party sounds so fetch, I hope you are wearing a lab coat….

        ..with nothing underneath

Suddenly I want to go to a birthday party.

        2. admin January 14, 2010 at 1:03 am

          oooooh baby!

I’m looking at having it on the 17th (aka the Saturday in between our birthdays), my friend Julia is getting married the weekend after my birthday, and we really can’t tear it up in the name of science on a weeknight. Though actually I do plan on having two birthday parties this year–science on the 17th and rockaroke at the parlor on my actual birthday. Because I like having parties and this way I can guilt people into attending two of them. Or the one that best fits their interests, whatev. 😀

Kickass, I can’t wait for the invite! I may do something the weekend before (10th) at Fado. Can’t have a drinkathon like past birthdays but that’s ok, I won’t be preggers for my favoritest drinking holiday: 4th of July so I am happy!

          2. admin January 14, 2010 at 1:10 am

I figure it’s a bit too early to be sending out invites because I don’t want people to forget about it between the invite and the actual event, so expect to see an invite mid-March or so.

I will go ahead and mark the 10th @ Fado on my calendar, I can’t believe how fast my weekends for the first quarter of the year are filling up already!

inorite? All important birthday celebrations happen in April too. Maybe Mardi will have a party the weekend after yours?

          4. frogger414 January 14, 2010 at 1:15 am

And saving your date on my calendar too

          5. admin January 14, 2010 at 1:28 am

Wellll don’t save the 21st just yet, the Parlor called me back and for now they’re discontinuing Rockaroke except for catered events. 🙁 BOOO.

          6. frogger414 January 14, 2010 at 4:49 am

            i saved the 17th…..

          7. admin January 14, 2010 at 4:06 pm

Oh, ok, I was just saying in case you were thinking about doing the 17th and the 21st. 🙂 The 17th is the fun science one, anyway. 😀

          8. frogger414 January 14, 2010 at 5:43 pm

Weekday events are usually not ones where I have to save the date in my calendar, so just let me know what happens in the near future and then I’ll put it in my calendar. It’s those darn weekends that fill up and I do first come first serve for my calendar 🙂

Try the seattle weird science salon, they may be able to hook you up. I’m talking jacob’s ladders and electron elevators n’ shit!

    1. admin January 14, 2010 at 5:42 pm

Oooooooooh, good idea! Thank you! 😀

  3. vurumai January 14, 2010 at 3:12 am

    No.

NOT AFTER I CLONE YOU AND PUT AN ALARM CLOCK RADIO IN YOUR HEAD!

    1. admin January 14, 2010 at 5:42 pm

That will just make my clone on time for things and thus better than me.

Then I would have to kill it with fire to prevent it from being more loved than me.

That’s a really lovely obituary. Thanks for sharing it with us.

  5. Anonymous January 14, 2010 at 3:20 pm

That’s a sweet article. Was he the reason you got into RYE then?

  6. pezking124 January 14, 2010 at 5:01 pm

Aw, that would be be badass.

    1. admin January 14, 2010 at 5:44 pm

Since he lives locally, I am planning on inviting one Bill Nye the Science Guy, as that would more than make up for Mad Science Birthdays not wanting to take my money. It’s unlikely that he’ll show, but I will plead my case really well. Bill! Nye! The Science Guy!

      1. pezking124 January 14, 2010 at 5:50 pm

Holy cow. I want to go to there!

        1. admin January 14, 2010 at 6:01 pm

It’s a long way to travel for a party, but you’re invited!

          1. pezking124 January 14, 2010 at 6:04 pm

Well if science would hurry the hell up and get me my flying car it wouldn’t be so big an issue!

          2. admin January 14, 2010 at 6:13 pm

CMON GUYS IT’S 2010 ALREADY. Make with the flying cars!

  7. poetrix618 January 14, 2010 at 8:37 pm

LOL!! — Sounds awesome as usual.

I bet Jim could give you ideas for the science.

I can give you ideas for the mad.

    1. admin January 15, 2010 at 9:06 pm

I think it’ll be a fun party this year, for sure. The time will come, however, when I will not be able to throw a party more awesome than the previous years’, and that thought makes me sad indeed.

  8. robotdevil January 15, 2010 at 11:04 am

maybe “for adults” means something completely different to them.

    1. admin January 15, 2010 at 9:07 pm

I’m not asking for scientists to come in and have a science gangbang! I guess they just figure adults won’t be impressed or they don’t want tanked people lighting off rockets.

    1. admin January 18, 2010 at 5:28 am

That is six different kinds of awesome!
